Abigail’s Arms

BATTERING INTERVENTION AND PREVENTION PROGRAM (BIPP)

Battering Intervention and Prevention Programs works to challenge the belief structure of family violence offenders while creating an additional layer of supervision in our community.  Participants complete 24 weekly psycho educational groups and an exit session to complete the program.

Abigail’s Arms BIPP offers an TDCJ-CJAD accredited program that meets the requirements for Texas Court, Community Supervision (probation and parole) and CPS cases. BIPP works with the community to hold Family Violence Offenders accountable for their choice to use violence.

BIPPs are responsible for holding participants accountable for their abuse, providing ongoing communication with referral sources through entrance, exit, and monthly progress reports, and by offering educational workshops to criminal justice agencies.

BIPPs are accredited by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice – Community Justice Assistance Division and must adhere to the BIPP Guidelines that regulate minimum program requirements including: duration, facilitator training requirements, format and contact with victims and referral sources.
