Abigail’s Arms

Building Healthy Relationships and Communities (BHRC)

The BHRC is the curriculum used in our local schools. The goal of the curriculum is to educate participants about gender stereotypes and address the root cause of sexual violence. We encourage participants to be agents of change within their own relationships, which in return changes their school communities, and as they mature, their attitudes will enhance their communities in college and on into adulthood.

It is important to know how not to be victimized but it is of higher importance to be aware of the attitudes and behaviors that encourage sexual violence. This curriculum is used to empower our youth to be active bystanders and to be leaders in their communities, instituting change by their actions and their words.
